Clash Royale Major Balance Update: Massive Changes (Coming 8/24)

Clash Royale is changing 15 cards in this week’s massive update. Supercell calls this the ‘Clash Royale Major Balance Update‘. This update will change both the attacking and defensive strategies. Most players have to change their decks  and strategies as some of the most popular cards are either going down or rising up. 🙂

The Ice Wizard, the Miner, and Zap are among the cards getting nerfed the hardest. Supercell says most people would like the two heroes: Ice Wizard and the Miner relevant but Zap could fall out of favor. The Zap was so powerful and flexible that the majority of the decks run it in their strategy.

Now the good news, some cards are being risen. Some cards are Golem, Archer, and Prince. These cards would be more frequently used for some scary quick pushes. This Clash Royale Major Balance Update tries to revive the defensive cards such as Bomb Towers and Cannons. Cards such as Hog Rider and Poison will have minor changes. Through all these, Supercell wants to keep the game fun to play and make it more aggressive. 😀

Clash Royale Major Balance Update Changes (8/24)

These are the changes that can make Clash Royale the ultimate game-changer. Here are all the things you need to know about this upcoming Clash Royale major balance update within the next 24-hours. 😉

  • Royal Giant: Hit Speed decreased to 1.7sec from 1.5sec
  • Zap: Stun Duration decreased to 0.5sec from 1sec
  • Princess: Area Damage radius decreased by a staggering 25%
  • Ice Wizard: Hit Points decreased by 5%
  • Miner: Deploy Time increased to 1sec from 0.7sec, and Hitpoints decreased by 6%
  • Baby Dragon: Hit Speed increased to 1.6sec from 1.8sec
  • Dark Prince: Damage increased by 7.5%
  • Bowler: Elixir cost decreased to 5 from 6 while Hitpoints decreased by 7%, and Damage decreased by 10%
  • Lumberjack: Speed increased to Very Fast (from Fast), Hit Speed increased to 0.7sec (from 1.1sec), Damage decreased by 23%
  • The Log: Cast time decreased by 66%, travel speed increased by 20%
  • Golem: Death and Hit Damage increased by 5%, and Hitpoints increased by 1%
    Death and Hit Damage increased by 8%, and Hitpoints increased by 3.2%
  • P.E.K.K.A: Damage increased by 5%
  • Tombstone: Spawn Speed increased to 2.5sec from 2.9sec
  • Archers: Damage increased by 2%
  • Prince: Damage increased by 2%

Clash Royale Major Balance Update 8/24 (Video Overview)


This Clash Royale major balance update is a game-changer. I gotta change my strategy with the Zap as it’s duration decreased by deadly 50%. That’s pretty unfortunate but still, Supercell is trying to make the game more appealing. I like the way Supercell takes very update very nicely. Unlike Niantic, they don’t seem to never disappoint their players. 😉
